Tuesday, 13th August 2024: Clive Jones MP, Wokingham’s newly elected MP, visited tepeo to meet with CEO, Johan du Plessis.
During his visit, Clive received a guided tour of tepeo’s manufacturing workshop, training academy and offices, meeting some of the 50 employees based there, and later engaged in a discussion about decarbonising home heating.
tepeo manufactures the ZEB, a direct replacement for a standard fossil fuel or electric boiler in the home. It uses cheaper and lower carbon electricity by charging up at off-peak times and storing energy as heat, to be used on demand when needed.
The ZEB is the ideal solution for properties which are not suitable for heat pumps, due to accessibility issues, as well as providing cheaper heating for those who have to use electric, oil or LPG boilers.
Johan du Plessis remarked, “We were delighted to host Clive Jones MP at our site and demonstrate why heat batteries, such as the ZEB, are crucial for providing consumers with more low-carbon heating options, accelerating the decarbonisation of UK homes. We welcome Clive’s support for levelling the playing field for heat batteries in the low carbon heating market.”
Clive Jones MP commented, “It’s inspiring to see such groundbreaking innovation right here in our community. Heat battery technology is not only revolutionising how we think about heating our homes but also setting a powerful example of how we can meet our future home heating needs sustainably. I’m proud to support tepeo, a local company, leading the charge toward a greener and more secure energy future.”
