Harrow, UK, 24th January 2025 – Gareth Thomas, MP for Harrow West, today visited the home of local resident Trevor Cox, to see tepeo’s innovative ZEB heat battery technology in action. The visit highlighted the potential of this cutting-edge low-carbon heating solution to help other local residents to reduce their carbon footprint, maintain a warm, comfortable home, and potentially lower their energy bills.
The visit also demonstrated how heat batteries can be a practical solution for decarbonising homes across Harrow West. Its ability to seamlessly integrate into existing heating systems without the need for disruptive retrofits makes it an ideal solution for local homes, particularly those without outdoor space for heat pumps.
Speaking about his visit, Gareth Thomas MP said: “I was delighted to meet tepeo and Trevor to hear how tepeo’s ZEB technology is helping to reduce carbon emissions and air pollution in my constituency. I, like many, am eagerly awaiting the results of the Government’s Homes for Net Zero project. Anything that can help reduce my residents’ carbon footprints and energy bills, while assisting the Government in reaching its climate goals, can only be a good thing.”
Trevor Cox, a local homeowner who has been using the ZEB since May 2023, shared his personal experience with the technology: “The ZEB has been a game-changer for my home. It seamlessly integrates with my existing system, provides consistent warmth, and has already started saving me money. It’s a reliable, low-carbon solution that aligns perfectly with my goal of reducing my home’s environmental impact while keeping me warm.
The ZEB offers an efficient and practical solution for homeowners across Harrow West, particularly in urban areas where space can be limited – a recent Government study of heat pumps found that a lack of outdoor space was the most common barrier to decarbonising homes using heat pumps. In these cases, heat batteries can deliver effective heating while reducing emissions. Minister for Energy Consumers, Miatta Fahnbulleh MP, noted that heat batteries are a promising alternative electric heating technology.
As more residents explore ways to reduce their carbon footprint and energy bills, heat batteries present an exciting opportunity for Harrow West and Greater London to lead the way in adopting innovative clean technologies.
“We are at a critical point in our transition to a low-carbon future,” said Trevor. “I encourage others in the area to look into the ZEB, as it’s already made a positive impact on my home. It’s efficient, easy to install, and it helps create a more sustainable future and a cleaner environment in the area where we live.”
