tepeo and Sunamp join forces to offer complete heat battery solution for homes

Heat battery manufacturers tepeo and Sunamp have announced a strategic partnership to offer an innovative, low-carbon, combi-like heating solution designed to replace the traditional boiler and hot water cylinder setup. It’s ideally suited for homes with combi-boilers that don’t have room for a traditional hot water tank.

This partnership means installers and homeowners can benefit from dealing with one company and having one delivery, reducing the carbon footprint and cost of installation. Homeowners can now remove their combi-boiler knowing their heating and hot water needs are addressed with two systems working as one.

As the demand for low carbon heating grows, the main challenge homeowners face, especially those with a fossil fuel combi boiler, is the lack of space to put in a low carbon heating solution and an additional hot water tank.

To overcome this, tepeo has become a distributor for Sunamp’s Thermino heat batteries for hot water, allowing installers to buy the two products together and install them at the same time to work in harmony with one another. This offering provides a high-performance space heating and hot water system that requires less floor space than a traditional hot water tank and low carbon heating solution setup.

tepeo, innovator of the ZEB, brings to the partnership its new breed of boiler that uses sensible heat battery technology to provide home heating. The ZEB uses electricity to store heat at the cheapest and greenest times, which can then be used throughout the day when the thermostat calls for heat. Coupled with its Smart Charging algorithm, which forecasts heating demand by learning a home’s heating habits; its ease of install, taking 1-2 days; and the ability to work with existing heating systems, the ZEB offers a highly efficient, low carbon heating solution for homes, especially those that aren’t suitable for a heat pump.

Sunamp, a leader in thermal storage, contributes its high performance phase change material technology, used in its Thermino range of latent heat batteries for hot water to replace bulky hot water cylinders. Together, the companies will deliver a unique combi-like heat battery solution that serves both space heating and hot water needs in homes.

“This partnership with Sunamp marks a significant step forward in our mission to provide customers a low cost, low carbon, smart and yet simple route off of fossil fuels”, commented Johan Du Plessis, CEO of tepeo. “By combining our technologies, we are making it easier for homeowners, especially those with combi-boilers or limited space to put in a water tank, to transition to sustainable heating without the need for extensive space or structural changes. This package will give millions of homes immediate access to low-carbon electrified heating, helping accelerate the UK’s transition to Net Zero”

Trevor Cross, UK sales director for Sunamp, added: “We are thrilled to partner with tepeo to address a common challenge faced by many households—limited space for traditional low carbon heating equipment. Our combined expertise introduces a truly revolutionary solution that meets the needs of modern homes for space heating and hot water from our rapidly decarbonising grid, thus reducing primary energy consumption and carbon emissions.”
